Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary
For eight hours of each day, we have the privilege of adoring our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. The radiance of His loving presence fills our hearts and our home at all times, but especially during the hours of exposition. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament flows from the holy sacrifice of the Mass, and it prepares us to assist at holy Mass the following day. For here in the Lord’s presence, we gaze upon the mystery of His sacrifice — the utter gift of Himself in love to the Father for our salvation — and we learn to give ourselves in sacrifice. This intimate time of prayer, when we kneel before the Lord as the bride before her Bridegroom, is cherished by each of us. Whether this time be spent in pondering the mysteries of the rosary, in savoring a passage of scripture, or in utter silence; whether our hearts are overflowing with jubilation, or whether our souls are steeped in desert dryness: we come eagerly to adore the Lord.
As we seek the face of the Lord in silent adoration, we enter more and more deeply into the love and mercy which our Lord pours out for the salvation of the world. Our time in adoration before Him each day is mysteriously united to His salvific work, and becomes a silent pleading for the needs of the whole world.
Like our holy father Dominic, we present the world daily to God, and invite all of humanity to the wedding feast of the Lamb. We implore God’s grace and blessing on the preaching and ministry of the brethren of our Order and upon all who will hear them. In this way we have a true and important share in the work of our brethren for the salvation of souls.
O Jesus, whom I now behold veiled, I pray that this for which I so thirst may come to pass: that beholding Thee with Thy countenance revealed, I may be happy in the vision of Thy glory. ~ St. Thomas Aquinas
